Ordering & quotes

How do I get a quote?

Call, email or use the form on our Contact page. You can also add products to the quote list on this site. Send your delivery postcode, the products and quantities (or the wall length and retained height), and whether you want kerbside or on-site delivery. The Contact page has the full list of what to include.

How long is a quote valid?

30 days from the date shown on the quote. After that we check prices again before we confirm the order, because supplier prices do move.

What does a quote include?

Supply only, unless you ask us for supply and install. Installation, footings and concrete work aren't included, but you can add bagged cement or concrete as a line. Freight is shown on its own line. If we substitute a product or size, the quote says so and why.

Can you install the wall?

We supply the materials and refer the installation to contractors we work with in the Adelaide area. The contractor sees the site and prices the labour directly with you. Request a supply and install quote.

Pricing, payment & GST

Are your prices inc or ex GST?

Product prices are ex GST. GST is added at 10% and shown as its own line. Freight is quoted inc GST. On a quote the goods and the freight are on separate lines, and each total says which basis it's on.

Is there a discount for bigger orders?

Yes, and they apply automatically. Orders of 20 or more eligible units take 5% off, 50 or more take 10% and 100 or more take 15%. The break is applied at checkout and on quotes, counted on the total eligible units in the order, and only one break applies. Seconds count towards the threshold and take the break too. Quantity breaks don't combine with trade pricing; you get the better of the two.

How can I pay?

By card or bank transfer. Full payment is due upfront unless you're on trade or credit terms. All welded steel and cut concrete must be paid for in advance. Cash on delivery is by prior arrangement only.

Do you cut sleepers and steel to length?

Steel posts are priced by the metre and supplied cut to length. Sleepers and cribs can be cut to length for $18.18 ex GST per cut. Cut, welded and fabricated items can't be cancelled once work starts.

Delivery & freight

How much is delivery?

It depends on your freight zone and the number of units. Each zone has a base charge for the first 50 units and a rate for each unit after that. On-site placement is the kerbside rate plus 15%. Zones 5 and 6 are quoted on request. All freight rates include GST. The full table is on our Delivery & Freight page.

When is the yard open?

Trade: 7am–4pm Monday to Friday and 7am–2pm Saturday. Retail: 9am–4pm Monday to Friday and 8am–2pm Saturday.

You can collect from the yard at 923 Old Port Wakefield Road, Virginia SA 5120. Our team loads the order and you sign for it at the gate. Call 04** *** *** to arrange a collection.

What do you need from me for a delivery?

A phone number the driver can reach on the day, and clear site access details. Tell us when you ask for the quote if access is narrow or restricted, or if the goods need a crane or hiab. We quote crane and hiab work separately. The first 30 minutes on site are included. Where a site is hard to access, a delivery surcharge may apply at the driver's discretion.

What happens if nobody is on site?

If the site is safe and accessible, the driver may leave the goods and take photos. Risk passes to you once they're unloaded. If the site isn't safe or accessible, the goods go back to the yard and redelivery is charged at your zone rate.

Can I change or cancel a delivery?

Yes, but if you cancel or change a booked delivery after 2:30pm on the business day before, the full delivery charge applies. We confirm your delivery date when we book it.

Returns & damage

Can I return something?

Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery or collection, on unused, resaleable stock in its original condition. A 20% restocking fee applies. You pay the freight both ways, and the original freight isn't refunded.

We can't accept change-of-mind returns on:

  • cut-to-length items,
  • welded or fabricated steel,
  • seconds and clearance stock,
  • opened Adbri product, or
  • special orders.

Refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days of us inspecting the goods.

What if something arrives damaged or faulty?

Please tell us within 48 hours of delivery, with photos, so we can sort it out quickly. Faulty goods are covered by the Australian Consumer Law, and we collect them from you.

Products & seconds

What are seconds?

Seconds are graded-out sleepers from our suppliers, sold as clearance stock. Which maker they come from varies with what we get in. They are ungraded, so they carry no engineering duty rating. We limit their use to retaining walls up to 800 mm retained height. For anything higher, use our first-grade Outback Sleepers or Silvercrete range.

Seconds come in two thickness bands, and each band needs a different post:

  • 75–90 mm: fits 100UB or 100PFC posts.
  • 90–110 mm: needs 120UB or 125PFC posts. These won't seat between 100UB or 100PFC flanges.

Seconds are one-off stock, so quantities are limited and the sizes and makers change. What's listed on this site is what we have. Call us to confirm what's at the yard before you commit to a full job. Quantity breaks apply to seconds too. Trade pricing on seconds is set per account.

Can I use seconds in an engineered wall?

No. Seconds must not be used in any wall that has been engineered, certified or specified by an engineer, certifier, council or head contractor. Engineered walls need first-grade Outback Sleepers or Silvercrete.

Does my wall need an engineer?

Retaining walls are designed to AS 4678. In South Australia a wall retaining over 1.0 m, any wall under a surcharge such as a fence, driveway or building, and a wall with a fence taking the combined height over 2.1 m, need development approval and engineering.

The design depends on soil conditions, drainage, the footing and any surcharge, so it is specific to your site. We supply the materials. We don't design or certify walls or give engineering advice, and the wall builder on this site is an indicative material estimate, not an engineering design.

If you need an engineer, we can put you in touch with an independent structural engineer. You engage them directly and they set their own fees. Request an engineering referral.

Trade accounts

Do you offer trade pricing?

Yes. Trade customers are priced from our trade price lists. Trade pricing doesn't combine with quantity breaks; you get the better of the two. Call or email us to talk about trade pricing for your business.

Can I get an account with credit terms?

Trade accounts are offered on application. Terms and your credit limit are set case by case, subject to a credit check. The credit application must be signed in the name of the legal entity that's buying. If you're buying as a company, we also need a director's guarantee. Contact us for an application.
