Plan your wall
Retaining wall builder
Pick your wall shape (straight, L, U, 3-corner or a square / rectangular garden bed), then set the length of each run. We'll find the lowest-cost mix of sleeper lengths per run, add cribs for half-height courses, match the posts to your grade, allow for any cut-to-length sleepers, and drop the lot in your cart. Ex GST. Supply across Adelaide metro and country SA.
This wall needs engineering
Retaining walls are designed to AS 4678. In South Australia a wall retaining over 1.0 m, any wall under a surcharge such as a fence, driveway or building, and a wall with a fence taking the combined height over 2.1 m, need development approval and engineering.
What follows is an indicative material estimate, not a design. We supply the materials. We don't design or certify walls or give engineering advice. The quantities, post sizes and depths must be confirmed by your engineer and may change.
Request an engineering referral – you engage the engineer directly and they set their own fees.
How it works
After you've planned your wall
Plan it here
Set your shape, run lengths, height and grade. The builder costs the sleepers, cribs, posts, corners and cuts as you go.
Add to cart or quote
Drop the whole wall in your cart, or send it through as a quote and we'll firm up the numbers.
Pick up or delivery
Collect from our yard at Virginia, or book a delivery on one of our trucks across Adelaide metro and country SA.
Build it
Posts go in as deep as the wall is high; sleepers slot between. Or we can put you onto an installer who works with our product.
Good to know
Before you order
Lowest-cost mix, ex GST
Prices are ex GST and the mix is the lowest cost that covers each run, not the biggest order we can write.
When a wall needs an engineer
Posts auto-match the grade and run as deep as the wall is high (AS 4678 rule of thumb). Walls over 1.0m, surcharges or fence-on-top need engineering and approval in SA.
We don't install, but we know who does
Pick up from the yard or have it delivered. We supply the materials and refer the installation to contractors we work with in the Adelaide area.
